The new Sangean ATS-909X2 white is a Multiband digital radio receiver PLL FM-RDS, MW, LW, SW and air band that represents the natural evolution of the successful ATS-909X model that maintains most of the physical elements, such as buttons and connections, with a larger screen, while maintaining the same external dimensions. In terms of reception, now, in addition to the usual frequencies, shortwave, medium wave and FM, this receiver is capable of receiving the frequencies of the aviation band.
As we said, the LCD screen of the Sangean ATS-909X2 has also grown in size and now has a dimming effect when turning the backlight on and off. The new model also outperforms the ATS-909X by incorporating automatic bandwidth control and a tuning step in Hz to SBB steps. Continuing with the screen, it now shows the station frequency with six digits in total and is capable of including the local time and the world time with the name of the chosen cities.
The new functions that we must highlight about this Sangean ATS-909X2 are many. In addition to the compatibility with the air band, the soft FM squelch and the possibility of viewing station information thanks to the RDS technology. It is also worth mentioning that the number of frequencies that can be stored in this receiver has tripled compared to its predecessors. In total, the user can memorize up to 1674 radio frequencies.
The Sangean ATS-909X2 also includes other outstanding features. For example, it is possible to block the saved frequency so as not to accidentally overwrite it. It also comes with three groups of alarm clocks that include the snooze function. Finally, one of the most notable but less obvious changes is that the new Sangean ATS-909X2 has seen its battery compartment completely redesigned with a new Ni-MH smart battery charger that allows charging up to four AA batteries and individually detecting the status of each battery.
