The Diamond MX72D is a high-performance, compact antenna duplexer designed to split or combine HF/VHF and UHF signals for multi-band transceiver operations. This technical device allows the connection of a dual-band radio to two separate antennas, or conversely, channels two distinct bands into a single dual-band coaxial antenna feed. Featuring an integrated low-loss bandpass filter design, the duplexer maintains excellent system isolation of 60 dB to prevent cross-band interference and preserve signal integrity.
The duplexer is split into a Low-Pass Filter (LPF) leg covering 1.6 to 150 MHz and a High-Pass Filter (HPF) leg covering 400 to 460 MHz. It exhibits exceptionally low insertion loss, measuring at just 0.1 dB on the LPF line and 0.2 dB on the HPF line, while maintaining a Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) of less than 1.2:1 at resonance. For versatile high-power systems, the power handling capacity is rated up to 1kW PEP on HF, 850W PEP on VHF, and 500W PEP on UHF bands. The unit features built-in coaxial cable leads terminating in PL-259 (PL male) connectors for the band outputs, and a SO-239 (PL female) socket for the mixed port.
