The AnyTone AT-D168UV is a dual band (VHF/UHF) walkie-talkie for ham radio with digital DMR technology (compatible with ETSI DMR Tier 1 and 2) that also works with traditional FM modulation system. The AT-D168UV is the compact version of the popular AT-D878UV model. Like this one, it also has the ability to store up to 500,000 contact records and 10,000 conversation groups in a large internal memory that allows us to save and work with up to 4000 channels.
The AT-D168UV from Anytone features a generous 1.77″ color display and a variety of backlight settings. It can be easily read at different angles and is easy to read even in bright sunlight. Unlike its “big brother”, the AT-D878UV model, the indicators on the display have been updated, giving it a more modern look and thus allowing for better readability. In addition, it now features a bar graph to display signal strength.
The Anytone AT-D168UV offers true VFO operation, meaning the user can set a frequency and the usual transmit parameters rather than having to rely solely on programmed channels. It also includes a configurable auto-repeater function which is very convenient for amateur radio operators.
The AT-D168UV‘s other functions are extensive. In analog mode, functions such as DTMF, CTCSS, and DCS are supported, as well as coding with two-tone and five-tone signals. A 1750 Hz tone burst (call tone) is also available. Two configurable buttons can be individually assigned to certain functions, allowing each user to set his or her personal preferences.
