The Yaesu FT-70DE is an analog and digital dual band walkie with Yaesu‘s advanced C4FM digital system. It’s a compact and very attractive transceiver that includes the exclusive automatic mode selection (AMS) function, with broadband coverage from 108 MHz – 580 MHz, for continuous reception for air, terrestrial, marine band, public service channels, etc. and 144-148MHz, 430-450MHz in Tx.
The Yaesu FT-70DE, through the AMS (Automatic Mode Selection) function, detects the operating mode of the received signal as conventional analog FM or as in the advanced C4FM Digital FUSION mode, and then automatically and instantly switches the receiver to the appropriate mode. This is very convenient when listening to communications, as you do not need to be aware of the communication mode of the other party.
The multi-color LED mode indicator displayed on the front allows the operator to easily see what mode the FT-70DE is in at any given time. The transceiver can also be operated in a fixed communication mode.
Another distinctive feature of the Yaesu FT-70D is the Digital Group Monitor (GM) with DG-ID (Digital Group Identification) and DP-ID (Personal Digital Identification) now included in the FT-70DE, to simplify GM operation. Simply put, transceivers that select the same DG-ID or DP-ID can communicate with each other. Between 00 and 99 DG-ID and DP-ID are selectable, which provides great flexibility for users to enjoy group communication with their friends in GM mode according to their individual operating needs.
The Yaesu FT-70DE is built to commercial-grade standards, including IP54 rating for protection against dust and water, making this walkie suitable for operation in the harshest of environments.
