{"id":55025,"date":"2023-04-18T20:31:00","date_gmt":"2023-04-18T19:31:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pihernz.com\/?p=55025"},"modified":"2023-04-19T07:48:31","modified_gmt":"2023-04-19T06:48:31","slug":"world-amateur-radio-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pihernz.com\/en\/world-amateur-radio-day\/","title":{"rendered":"World Amateur Radio Day\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Today, <strong>April 18<\/strong>, we celebrate <strong>World Amateur Radio Day.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It was on this day in <strong>1925<\/strong> that the<strong> International Amateur Radio Union was formed in Paris<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Amateur Radio experimenters were <strong>the first to discover that the short wave spectrum could support worldwide propagation<\/strong>. In the rush to use these shorter wavelengths, Amateur Radio pioneers met in Paris in 1925 and created the IARU to support Amateur Radio worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>Just two years later, at the <strong>International Radiotelegraph Conference<\/strong>, Amateur Radio gained the allocations still recognized today \u2014 <strong>160, 80, 40, 20, and 10 meters<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0Since its founding, the IARU has worked tirelessly to defend and expand the frequency allocations for Amateur Radio. Thanks to the support of enlightened administrations in every part of the globe, <strong>radio amateurs are now able to experiment and communicate in frequency bands strategically located throughout the radio spectrum<\/strong>.\u00a0 From the 25 countries that formed the IARU in 1925, <strong>the IARU has grown to include 160 member-socities.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Pihernz Comunicaciones<\/strong>, since its inception, <strong>has supported radio amateurs in different events<\/strong> and meetings, always <strong>&#8220;listening&#8221; to their concerns and needs<\/strong>.
